Introducing the new official logo of Defending Families Coalition.

We may be new, but this fight is not.

Too many families have gone through systems that made them feel powerless, unheard, isolated, and afraid. Too many parents have felt like they had to fight alone while the people meant to protect families became the very force tearing them apart.

That ends when we stand together.

Our new logo represents exactly what this movement is about:

👑 The Crown — because we are the kings and queens of our own kingdoms. Our families matter. Our voices matter. Our role as parents matters.

🛡️ The Shield — protection for families, children, and the fundamental right to stand up for one another.

✒️ The Quill — knowledge, truth, constitutional rights, and the power of education over intimidation.

Defending Families Coalition may be just beginning, but we are building something powerful. A community where families are no longer isolated. A place to learn your rights, share resources, support one another, and demand accountability.

Real change doesn’t happen when one parent fights alone.
It happens when families unite.

Together, we can expose broken systems.
Together, we can support parents in the fight of their lives.
Together, we can push for accountability, transparency, and reform.
Together, we can fix child protective services for the safety and well-being of the children and families they are meant to serve.

This is more than a logo.
This is the beginning of a movement.

Join us. Stand with us. Defend families.

Hi everyone 💛

I want to start by apologizing for the silence. The last few weeks have been heavy, and I’ve been navigating active matters in the Montrose courts. I appreciate your patience more than I can say.

I especially want to acknowledge those of you who took the time and courage to submit declarations. That is not a small thing. Your stories matter, they are being handled carefully, and they have not been ignored.

Many of you are understandably wondering where things stand with the Supreme Court. At this stage, we are in the process of organizing and positioning the declarations appropriately so they can be used responsibly and effectively. This is not something I want to rush or mishandle, and I’ll share more as soon as it’s appropriate to do so.

I’d also really like to bring us together in person to talk openly about next steps, answer questions as best I can, and hear what you want this to become.

I’d love your thoughts on a meetup location that feels safe and accessible:
• Hotel conference room
• Library meeting room
• Park (weather permitting)
• Restaurant with a private or semi-private space
• Other suggestions welcome

Please comment with your preference, or message me privately if that feels more comfortable. This coalition exists because of your voices, and I want to move forward with transparency, care, and integrity.

Thank you for being here 🤍

Montrose families, I need to ask something important.

Over the past year, many families here have shared similar procedural issues in court or DHS-related cases, things like:
• not being allowed meaningful participation in hearings
• orders entered without proper notice or findings
• reliance on unlicensed or unqualified professionals
• sudden restrictions without individualized evidence
• complaints to oversight being dismissed without investigation

When the same issues happen to many unrelated families, that becomes a systemic problem, not just a disagreement with a case outcome.

I’m helping gather sworn declarations to document these patterns.
This is not about reopening cases, suing anyone, or naming judges publicly.

A declaration:
• is short and factual
• preserves your experience as evidence
• does not waive your rights
• can be confidential or use initials

If you want information only or have questions, please message me privately.
No obligation. No pressure.

Documentation protects people. Silence protects systems. Please share!

🛡️ WELCOME TO DEFENDING FAMILIES COALITION

Defending Families Coalition is a real nonprofit movement dedicated to supporting families and children impacted by child welfare involvement, family separation, crisis, and systems that can feel overwhelming to navigate alone.

We were created from lived experience, hard lessons, and a simple belief:

No family should have to fight alone.
No child should feel forgotten.
No parent should be left without support, education, or community.

Our mission is to advocate for healthier outcomes for children and families by providing awareness, education, support, community connection, and resources for those facing difficult family system involvement.

This coalition exists to support:

🛡️ Parents seeking education, advocacy support, and community
🛡️ Children impacted by separation, instability, or system involvement
🛡️ Relatives and kinship caregivers stepping in to protect family bonds
🛡️ Supporters, professionals, and community members who believe families deserve better support

We believe:
• Children deserve safety, stability, emotional wellbeing, and to be heard
• Families deserve access to information and meaningful support
• Community matters in times of crisis
• Healing and advocacy can exist together
• Accountability and compassion should both have a place in family systems

Defending Families Coalition is about building something bigger than one story.

It’s about creating a network where families find strength, children are not overlooked, and community members can stand together for better outcomes.

Through awareness campaigns, community support efforts, advocacy initiatives, educational outreach, and mission-driven partnerships like Crowned Couture, we’re turning pain into purpose and purpose into action.

Because defending families means defending children too.
