Friday we held our annual Ag Day for the Elementary and Middle School students at Pike-Delta-York Local School District. The day was a little chilly but the rain held off! The Ag students created stations to educate the students about agriculture. We had small and large animals, plants, butterflies, tractors and equipment, fishing and boating safety, and several games. We were also able to have some local community come and present. Thank you to Delta Police Department, Delta Community Fire & EMs, Bracy Gold Bison, and Myers Honey.

Establishing an Alumni & Supporters group for the Delta FFA Chapter is underway, with the objective of rallying support for the area's youth from individuals, couples, and businesses. This group functions similarly to the Music Booster or Panther Athletic Club (PAC), with the added goal of broader community engagement beyond the current membership. Prospective members should note that participation is not contingent upon previous FFA membership or an agricultural background, as both are not required. Everyone uses products of agriculture daily, making this initiative relevant to all. Details of the group are attached; your participation is welcomed. Pike-Delta-York Local School District

Not sure what happened to last nights post, but it’s up now!

State Convention day #3 is a wrap! We spent the day at the convention center and expo. The am session we celebrated Ana Gilders’ Gold Rated Treasures Book and Melanie Wyse’s Gold Rated Reporters Book.

We visited the career show, expo, and shopping mall. Then celebrated our three State FFA Degrees! Congratulations Claire Bates, Gracyn Pelton, and Melanie Wyse!!

A huge thank you to our drivers/chaperones Mr. Savage, Mrs. Gilders, and Mrs. Siewertsen!!

Convention day #2 in the books!
Students got to shop and explore the career and education expo. We crossed the stage for the first time this week for Charitable Giving and we got to listen to Brad Hurtig's message on Find A Way. He had a very traumatic accident while in high school and his football coach told him if he wanted something enough, he would find a way.

Our next stop was at Trillium Farms in Johnstown where they were kind enough to feed us lunch and we went on two tours. The first was to one of their in-line egg 🥚processing plants. We were able to see full circle from the eggs coming in from the laying hen 🐥barns to being shipped out. We got to see their robots and what happens to all the eggs that break or have defects! It was a very cool process to see. We then went to their feed mill to see how they store and dry corn 🌽, make feed, and haul it out to their farms. Operation Managers then talked to us about their backgrounds and what kind of education and training they needed, which wasn't much before coming to the company!

We ended our night full of energy and a few minor injuries at a new place called Slick City - which was full of fun slides and trampoline basketball 🏀!
