A lot of veterans leave service and slowly end up doing life alone.
Sovereign Roots was built to change that.

We’re creating a place on Colorado’s Western Slope where veterans can reconnect for free through outdoor adventure, hands-on projects, honest conversations, and community around the fire.

Do one, or do all. Our Weekend Series events include:

SATURDAY:
0900 | Fieldcraft = workshops:
• Blacksmithing and hands-on skills
• Homestead and land stewardship projects
• Optional mindfulness and grounding practices
• Veteran-led workshops and retreats
• Creative projects and hands-on learning

1800 | Rally Point Veterans Group = bonfires:
• Fireside conversations with other veterans
• S’mores and community
• A place to decompress and reconnect
• Honest conversations without pressure
• Family-style meals and relaxed evenings

SUNDAY:
1000 | Overwatch = hikes and outdoor adventures:
• Moderate hikes and scenic overlooks
• Camping and outdoor recreation
• Physical movement and mental reset
• Exploring Colorado’s Western Slope
• Time outdoors with good people

Watching local businesses get behind veterans and community connection like this honestly means a lot.

We started Sovereign Roots because too many veterans end up isolated after service. We wanted to build a place where people could reconnect through real-world activities, fires, work projects, outdoor adventures, and just being around people who get it.

Now seeing local businesses rally behind that mission is pretty damn humbling.

Great fire last night, with a few new faces. Don’t forget next month: Blacksmithing workshop (you’ll be starting by making nails) starts at 0900, only 6 seats available. Stay tuned and I’ll be putting that up for RSVP. Lunch provided, free to attend for veterans. Rally Point at 1800 for dinner, 1930 fire starts. Hike in the morning on the Grand Mesa. See you next month, June 13th and 14th.
