It’s been almost four months since we’ve last updated you all. In the last four months, we’ve had a series of uphill battles that have strayed us away from posting. Every time we wanted to post an update, something else always happened. Here’s the long awaited, short version of the update.
A few months ago we received the news that a spot was found in Mari’s liver. This was a shock to us all, as her body scans have remained clear for many years. A biopsy later confirmed that the cancer had in fact spread to her liver. Doctor’s quickly got back to the drawing board in search of new treatment options. After months of going through a grueling qualification process for a new clinical trial, Mari was finally accepted to participate. She started this trial a few weeks ago and though we are beyond grateful for the opportunity, it has been extremely rough on her body. It’s drained her of much of her energy, which is the reason why so many of you have not heard from her. However, she continues to fight, believe, and persevere, as she always has. Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us or have kept her in your prayers. We love you all and wish you all the happiest of holidays.
