Little Hearts Medical Missions - OHFO Open Hearts for Orphans (formerly Little Hearts Medical) serves orphaned and abandoned children around the world.

This part of our mission serves children who suffer from congenital heart disease. Open Hearts for Orphans is a 501(C)3 organization serving orphaned and abandoned children around the world. In 2019, we took over the wonderful work of Little Hearts Medical, whose mission was to bring life-saving cardiac care to orphaned and impoverished children in China. Their goal was to raise awareness of the p

light of children in China born with Congenital Heart Disease, provide education to those caring for these children, and assist in building the infrastructure necessary to provide them with the interventions they need. Our goal in carrying the torch for Little Hearts Medical is to help fund medical interventions for orphaned and abandoned children and to provide medical equipment where needed. Our project work and funding support has expanded into multiple countries, serving countless vulnerable children.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Open Hearts for Orphans turns 10 years old. ❤️

It's hard to put into words what that means to us.

Ten years ago, in memory of Daniel Weifeng Murphy, this mission was created with a simple belief: that every child deserves hope, love, and the opportunity to thrive.

Since then, we've witnessed miracles big and small. We've celebrated adoptions, supported vulnerable families, provided life-saving medical care, built homes, opened doors to education, and watched countless lives change because people like YOU chose to care. It's hard to wrap our brains around the magnitude of that goodness, actually. 🥹

As we prepare to celebrate this milestone tomorrow, our hearts are overflowing with gratitude.

To every volunteer.
To every partner.
To every advocate.
To every person who has prayed, shared a post, attended an event, sponsored a child, funded a surgery, or helped a family say YES to adoption...

Thank you. This milestone belongs to ALL OF US. 🙌🏼

🚨 URGENT NEED 🚨
We woke up yesterday morning to an update from the Josiah’s Hope Pediatric Ward—and we are flooded with emotions.
In the month of March alone, 52 children were admitted… a significant increase from the previous average of 30. Children battling severe pneumonia, malaria, sickle cell complications, and more… now have a place to be treated with dignity. That is a win.

The new High Dependency Unit (HDU) is already saving lives.
Critically ill children are now receiving oxygen, monitoring, and the care they need to stabilize. Ten children have already been admitted to the HDU—with good outcomes. Another win!

Something as simple as handwashing stations has drastically improved sanitation. Better airflow. More privacy. A safer place for children to fight for their lives.

This is what you have helped build, and we are beyond grateful. ❤️

But we need to tell you the whole story.

One child was lost.
Severe malnutrition. Septic shock.
And the hospital did not have an ICU ventilator to provide the respiratory support needed.

Read that again.

We are heartbroken. And we are not stopping here. This “Hallway of Hope” is real—but it is not finished.

👉 We are urgently raising $13,000 to provide a life-saving ventilator. Because the next child who comes in should have every possible chance to survive.
