This weekend at Bob Carter's Actor's Workshop & Repertory Company, the Delray Beach Drug Task Force is hosting the Pulitzer Prize winning play “Water by the Spoonful”. Upon conclusion of all showings, there is an interactive panel-discussion with the audience and clinician experts, discussing issues and questions related to addiction and recovery. DBDTF Executive Director Lissa Franklin and Associate Director Terry Shapiro attended Friday’s showing. Tickets are still available for the Saturday evening and Sunday matinee showings.

If you can’t make this weekend, we will be bringing the play to Old School Square Crest Theatre in May!

We were honored to have Nikki Soda, National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers NAATP Membership Development Officer, close out our 2018 at our general board meeting. NAATP is proactively advocating for solution and implementing change within the patient protection, clinical excellence, and business practices areas of the substance use disorder treatment industry, and we are so grateful to have Nikki right in our backyard! Teamwork makes the dream work!

Did you know that so far in 2018, Delray Beach has seen a 79% reduction in overdoses, as compared to 2017? That is largely due to the Delray Beach Police Department and the Delray C.A.R.E.S. Program. Tonight, Special Populations Advocate Ariana Ciancio and Delray Beach Police Chief, were recognized for being the heroes that they are. They both take protecting and serving to the highest level, and they truly do L.E.A.D. the way! 🖤💙🖤
