ay Beach, FL and Palm Beach County. She has no prior criminal record but her bail is deliberately excessively high with rare and strict requirements that included a Nebia hearing and house arrest. Charlotte Durante is a community servant with no prior arrest record. Her original bail was set at $503,000 by Palm Beach County Judge T. Booras. The bail was reduced to $245,000 by Judge John Kastrenakes but he refused to allow a reasonable bail that Charlotte Durante could afford. The final presiding Judge was Judge Charles Burton who also denied a bail reduction request at a hearing held on February 29, 2012. After continuous efforts for a responsible bail, Judge Burton lowered the bail but berated Charlotte G. Durante during the court-hearing. The trial was held in 2013 and by that time Judge Burton revoked Charlotte G. Durante's pro se status and appointed Attorney Thomas Montgomery represent her. On the first day of trial, Attorney Montgomery arrived to the court the morning of the trial and submitted a Motion to Withdraw blindsiding Charlotte G. Attorney Montgomery made untrue statements against Charlotte G. Durante but Judge Burton forced Attorney Montgomery to represent her during the trial and he lost her case. Charlotte G. Durante had to serve 6 years in prison for the false charges and wrong conviction. During the jail confinement her health failed although repeated pleas were made for release from jail to seek medical treatment. Before the trial, Charlotte G. Durante served 3 years in the county jail because of the excessively high bail then another 3 years in prison following the conviction. The City of Delray Beach Police investigative detective was Casey Thume who presented mistruths with the charges and manipulated witnesses.
