Operation Save The Lost

Operation Save The Lost Operation Save The Lost, a program that provides Jiobit tracking devices to fellow families on the Autism Spectrum.

This is the same device we use for our own daughter to ensure her safety. We are Nick & Katie Goergens & are the Founders of Operation Save the Lost. It is our mission to help families of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, keep them safe. Did you know that 49% of children diagnosed with Autism will wander sometime before their 10th birthday? Did you know over 30% of wandering incidents end in

some type of injury or death? Did you know the leading cause of death of children with Autism is drowning in connection with wandering? Our goal at Operation Save the Lost is to prevent a child from wandering from their safe place and into to danger. Our organization provides a Jiobit GPS tracking device that is equipped with geo-fencing (virtual fence) capabilities and will alert a child’s caregiver within minutes of a child getting out of their “safe zone”. Each device is provided to families 100% FREE OF COST along with 24 months of prepaid service, accessories needed, and 2 year device warranty.

When we started Operation Save the Lost two years ago, we had every intention of being able to help every family who applied for a Jiobit. It was and will forever be our mission to do whatever it takes to keep children with Autism safe & help provide a peace of mind for families like ours. We are so proud of what we have been able to do with funding from our communities & funding from our own pocket. We have met some of the most wonderful families along the way who will always have such a special place in our hearts.

With that being said, we knew this would be anything but easy. We know the need for this type of resource is unknown to most, and with that, funding is limited. We currently have over 100 applications in our inbox. Families from all over who put their faith in us to provide a safety device for their child. 100 children we are unable to help at this time due to funding & struggles we are having with Jiobit since they have been acquired by a different company. This is heart breaking for us and heartbreaking for families who have no other resource.

Due to this, we have decided to take our application down. We do have a few Jiobits on hand that are waiting for setup through the company that will be going out to families as soon as possible. We are going to continue to keep our page up and continue to advocate for something so misunderstood. We have hope that we will soon see funding again & come up with new ideas to raise funds to be able to re-open our application.

We will be forever grateful to those who have shared & contributed to our Organization. We couldn't have done any of this without you. Thank you. Thank you. ❤️

As long as you have faith, we have faith.

Our hearts and prayers are with Fiedwenya Fiefe and her family as we continue to search for her. Plainfield PD and Plainfield Fire Territory have been utilizing all available officers while working with state and local agencies to assist in the search. We are using every resource that we have to include drones, rescue canines, watercraft, and off-road vehicles. While we have had to scale back our search due to the darkness we will continue searching throughout the night until morning when we can increase our saturation of the area. We will never stop searching for Fiedwenya until we find her.

Again, if anybody has any information that can help us find Fiedwenya, please call the Hendricks County Communications Center at (317) 839-8700.

Another family has had to experience the pain of not knowing for 24+ hours whether or not they would find their son & then, the worst kind of pain. The kind of pain that stays with you for the rest of your days.

Draven was 11 years old. Like many of our kiddos, he was drawn to water. Water took his life. All of our prayers go out to his family. 🙏

☀️ Just a few reminders as summer is finally here and we all enjoy the outdoors... neighbors, friends, family. It never hurts to have extra eyes watching out for our loved ones.

• The risk of drowning for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) may be as high as ten times greater than other children.

• People with ASD are often drawn to water. In particular, people with ASD have a greater tendency to wander - that is, they may leave a safe area in search of a retreat away from overstimulation (crowds, noise or other stimuli) and may naturally gravitate towards water as a means of alleviating their sensory needs but without understanding the risks it may present. Supervision around water, including when bathing, is therefore paramount.
