Their homemade ice cream is smooth and full of flavor without being too sweet, with options like peach, strawberry, banana, mint, and birthday cake, along with thick shakes and tall cones. The hot dogs are just as popular, especially served “all the way.” Cold glass bottle sodas like Cheerwine round it out. Oh my, folks! Time to head west. A beacon of small town charm and the cutest waitresses we ever did see - so real we couldn’t even tag them on Facebook.

Dairy Center, Mount Airy

Ordained with local memories, a vintage cheerwine sign and an old school menu board- we knew we had hit the jackpot as soon as we walked in.

No explanation needed for our combo dogs- slaw mustard and chili. They were out in a jiffy. Light on chili and a flex of homemade slaw- we found it both unique and delightful.

Heads up- your credit is no good. It’s cash only. But do not worry, they graciously offer the honor system for a quick trip to the ATM down the road.
