4-H Camp Shankitunk A 4-H based traditional Catskill Mountain camping experience for girls & boys. Day and overnight program available. Putting partnerships and knowledge to work!

The facility is owned by Delaware County, and operated by Cornell Cooperative Extension. Meet new and interesting kids from Delaware County and beyond. Together you will explore nature, cook, and camp in the great outdoors. Share a special bond with bunk mates, work in special platoon groups, sing, and enjoy evening programs around the glowing campfire.

Shanki-dump: Week 5! 🍀

An unbelievable end to our superhero week and last week at Shankitunk! With indoor campfires, kite-flying, more and more skits and songs, a huge group of CITs, a blast with dairy ambassadors, air rifle classes, and our best chicken dinner yet, we’ve been making the most out of our grand finale of camp! An unforgettable week for an unforgettable camp 🏕️

Shanki-dump: Week 4! 🍀

Another exciting week here at Shankitunk during Robot Week! We’ve been having more and more campfires, flag raising and lowering, killing it at 4-square, making some crazy crafts and lanyards, and more! We’re also very excited to welcome our final group of CIT IIIs for their second week: George, Rio, Liz, Alice, Hudson, Kaleb, Victor, Shon, and Roman! We’re having so much fun, we’d like to linger a little longer! 🏕️

We’re opening another cabin for week 5! 🥳

We have 11 overnight male spots open and 10 progression day camp spots for male or female campers, both ages 8-16! If interested, please call our camp office at 607-746-2004 and ask for Liz!

Overnight campers must be at least 8 years old as of January 1st, 2026. Progression Day Campers must be 8 years old by camp attendance.

Shanki-dump: Week 3!🍀

Halfway through our camp season and we’ve never had more fun! Between rocket launchings, more and more campfires, diligent woodworking, cyanotypes, drama skits, and more, we’ve been as busy as ever! Bird week was busy spent squawking, hunting for insects, and birdwatching as well! We’re also welcoming 5 CIT IIIs into their second week: Brandon, Christian, Lamont, Scott, and Emma! We can’t wait to keep sharing all of the exciting things we have going on this summer including some special visitors, stay tuned!

Shanki-dump: Week 2! 🍀

Another fantastic week here at Shankitunk during Circus Week! We had some incredible staff circus acts like Jack on his stilts and Emma on her unicycle! We were so excited to see more of our ever-growing group of CITs, and welcoming Inez, Sofia, and Olivia for their second week for more hands-on experience for week 3! Between campfires, skits, songs, and fun-filled classes like fishing, sports, and astronomy, we’ve had yet another busy and wonderful week!
