Bill & Trish Grannis – The Steady Heartbeat of The Cup
If you’ve ever been at The Cup and thought, “Who actually makes all of this run so smoothly?” — the answer is almost always Bill and Trish Grannis.
Bill has been a pillar of the softball community for nearly three decades, and his Cup story started when his daughter Brittany played in 2012 and 2016. That sparked a decade of coaching from 2013 to 2023, and when he finally stepped off the field, he didn’t slow down—he just shifted gears. These days, Bill is the behind-the-scenes wisdom-maker: setting up equipment, running broadcasts, troubleshooting, guiding athletes and families, and basically making sure the whole machine doesn’t miss a beat.
And then there’s Trish—the hustle in the shadows, the one always moving, always helping, always filling the gaps before anyone even realizes there is a gap. For the past 10 years, she’s been everywhere at once: organizing, supporting, cheering, stepping in wherever needed, and making it all look effortless.
Here’s the thing: Bill may be the voice of experience, but Trish is the quiet force that makes it all possible. Together, they’re the ultimate Cup duo. They’ve been here so long, seen so much, and know this event inside out, that families often turn to them for tours, directions, advice—or just a friendly conversation. And honestly? They always deliver.
Off the field, Bill and Trish are just as unstoppable. Their idea of “a little road trip” usually involves following Morgan Wallen concerts across America. Not only do they show up, they show up front row, singing every lyric and hitting every dance move like pros. If there were a Hall of Fame for superfans, these two would already be inducted.
But more than all the jobs they do, Bill and Trish are family. Not just to each other, not just to their daughter Brittany—but to all of us. Their generosity, their love for the game, and their heart for people are the reason so many of us count on them year after year.
At The Cup, coaches lead the teams, athletes write the highlights, but leaders like Bill and Trish? They’re the ones who hold it all together. Quietly. Consistently. Faithfully. And for that, we don’t just respect them—we love them.
