This week, our Executive Director joined fellow leaders from Habitat for Humanity affiliates across Ohio at the Statehouse to advocate for affordable housing and the continued investment in safe, affordable homeownership opportunities for Ohio families. Todd had the opportunity to meet with Rep. Brian Lorenz and the office of Rep. Beth Lear to discuss the impact that Habitat for Humanity is making in communities across the state.

During these meetings, we expressed our gratitude for the $25 million awarded to Habitat for Humanity in 2023, which helped support the construction of 300 new homes and more than 800 critical home repairs for seniors statewide. Ohio was one of only four states to dedicate a significant portion of its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding to Habitat for Humanity, and the results demonstrated that this investment delivered meaningful, measurable benefits to Ohio’s affordable housing supply and to the families and seniors served through these programs.

We’re building across both Delaware & Union Counties today as volunteers make progress on Kwanicha and Lexi’s future homes! In Marysville, crews are continuing floor framing on Kwanicha and her son’s future home on East Ninth Street, while in Delaware, volunteers are hard at work building Lexi’s front porch on South Franklin Street. Thanks to everyone lending a hand across both counties today!
