Sri Swarnakarshana Bhairavar-Chidambaram Sri Sabanayagar temple
Many centuries ago, the revered Diksh*thars of the Chidambaram Temple are said to have placed a copper plate at the feet of this Bhairava idol during the Arthajama Puja. According to temple tradition, when they returned the following morning, the copper plate had transformed into a golden plate through the divine grace and power of the deity.
Because of this miracle, the deity came to be known as Swarna Akarshana Bhairava.
This sacred idol is enshrined beneath the Chit Sabha of the Chidambaram Temple. On special occasions, such as Ashtami, special abhishekams are performed in the Kanaka Sabha on behalf of devotees who offer their prayers and seek the deity's blessings.
On that occasions, a Vada Malai (a 108 garland made of vadas prepared in ghee) as naivedyam to the deity. Before the offering, the the day's pooja Deeksh*thar performs a special puja and deepa aradhana.
Temple tradition holds that sincere worship of Swarna Akarshana Bhairava blesses devotees with prosperity and wealth, removes fear and obstacles, and grants the fulfillment of righteous desires (Sarvabhishta Siddhi).🙏🏻🕉️🪷

From the foothills of the Himalayas to the heart of Ohio — the sacred month of Shravan brought the Nepali community to the divine space of KAILASA.

Shravan is not just a month on the calendar. It is the time when Lord Shiva walks the Earth, and every drop of water offered on the Shiva Linga carries the power to burn lifetimes of karma.

This community didn't just visit a temple. They came home to the living presence of Paramashiva.

Look at these faces — this is not tourism. This is pilgrimage. The same devotion that fills Pashupatinath in Kathmandu is now flowing here, in Ohio.
