We had a great day yesterday at our 5K Teddy Bear Trot! Thank you to everyone who came out for the event: CASA staff and volunteers, board members, community members, friends and family!

It's April 1, and officially the start of Child Abuse Prevention Awareness Month!

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a national program that provides advocacy in the court system for children who have been victims of abuse or neglect. CASA trains community volunteers to advocate in the best interest of the children, and to gather and provide information that allows the courts to make the best decisions for the safety and wellbeing of the children involved.

At Friends of CASA of Delaware and Union Counties, we raise funds to provide support to the CASA program (with gas cards to help volunteers get to visits, with relationship-building items to take on visits, etc.). In 2025 we also were able to fund the purchase of holiday gifts that CASA volunteers could give to each of their CASA kids! That was a wildly successful program, but only because of the financial support that we are so grateful to receive from our communities.

On April 19, we are hosting our 4th annual 5K Teddy Bear Trot. This is our biggest fundraiser each year, and we would love to have you participate! Here is a link where you can find more information about or register for the event!
