The CDC just reported over 100,000 fatal overdoses in the last 12 months. In spite of that national data Peoria County has seen a sustained decrease in fatal overdoses over the last 5 years, including a 50% decrease over the last 12 months.

Every dollar you give goes directly to saving someone's life, providing them with necessary resources that increase their overall health and wellness, and provides linkage to services.

You have generously supported JOLT Harm Reduction since we opened our center in 2018. We have experienced exponential growth, now with two satellite locations in two counties as well as impacting hundreds of lives per month.

None of this could be done without the tremendous support of our donors. You are giving the gift of life, health, and wellness.

THANK YOU!

I'm excited to be a part of this Certified Urban Leadership program. It’s a one-year long program in which we provide a foundational overview for leaders who are serving in underserved, marginalized communities.

This is a cost-effective means of increasing you and your staff/volunteer capacity for making an impact in the urban context.

I will be facilitating a two month course on Wholistic Urban Leadership. Trauma and trauma care go hand in hand with anyone involved in under-resourced marginalized communities, whether they themselves have experienced trauma or are ministering to others who have been traumatized.

In this course, we will explore in depth the praxis of self-care for leaders, what it means to have work-life balance through boundaries, tools for trauma care of others, and develop a strategic skillset for a more holistic approach to ministry.

Register today!

The InBetween is launching its first official program on May 3rd and we would love your help in recruiting amazing leaders who are so diligently serving their communities!

Healing begins with understanding

Dear God, please send us all the kids nobody else wants. Amen.” This was the prayer we prayed every day and when God answered this prayer, we were overwhelmed by the amount of hurt contained in these young people’s hearts. We were so overwhelmed that we began a teaching series called “Coping With…” that focused on the hard issues students were facing and hoped to give them healthy coping skills to navigate these challenges.

We invited professional social worker, counselors, teachers, law enforcement, medical professionals, and others to come and addressed issues such as cutting, eating disorders, depression and su***de, addiction, stress, and much more topics in that vein. Some of us even went back to school to study these issues ourselves. The response we got was tremendous and students were telling us how grateful they were that we were talking about the things they had to deal with on a regular basis.

Parents also began telling us of the impact these groups were having on their students and that their kids were finally being honest with them about their struggles. So, we began inviting parents to join us. They, in turn, invited their neighbors, and those neighbors told their youth pastors and church leaders and were soon inundated with requests to join us for these classes.

After much talk, collaboration, and prayer we have put our experience, resources, relationships, and expertise together to form a much-needed training resource for parents, churches, and school that focuses on filling the gaps in traditional youth ministry training. We focus on complex mental health/emotional/social health issues and how they affect adolescent development and Christian spirituality.
