Success! Spring check-in on trees planted last fall and we’re seeing positive results all-around with buds and leaves forming just in time for spring bloom! 🌼

Our season finale for 2025, today at Rose Hill Park in Wi******er! With the help of Troop 2 Shenandoah Area Council BSA and support from Frederick County Parks and Recreation we successfully planted 10 large American Sycamore trees along the fence row adjacent to Jones Road to enhance the park and support native biodiversity.

Special thanks to all of our volunteers who made this an amazing year! We planted a total of 50 native trees across three projects: Bowman Library & Lake, Sky Meadows State Park, and Rose Hill Park.

A TREEmendous 🌲 accomplishment made possible by volunteers from The Carlyle Group, Virginia Master Naturalists, as well as park staff and volunteers at Sky Meadows State Park! We planted 23 native trees on November 20th to support the park’s educational programs, add to the natural beauty of the surrounds, foster native biodiversity, and help mitigate the impact of climate change. Thank you everyone!

Staging has begun for our November 20th tree planting at Sky Meadows State Park! We will be planting 27 native trees to enhance the picnic and historic areas of the park.

It is done! We kicked off the fall planting season today at Bowman Library & Lake in Stephens City with the help of Troop 2 Shenandoah Area Council BSA, who really turned out in force to help get this project done. Many thanks to leaders Roy & Chris from Troop 2, other adult volunteers, and of course, all of the scouts who turned out to get conservation and service project hours in!

We’re excited for our first planting event of the season, happening tomorrow at Bowman Library in Stephens City! 🌲 🪏

We’ll be planting 13 trees in total, including October Glory Maples, Silver Maples, and River Birch trees, adding to the already beautiful aesthetic of the library and lake while increasing the native biodiversity of the local ecosystem.
