The General Federated Women’s Club of Delano is excited to announce our 2026 Concerts in the Park at Delano.

The concerts are free and open to everyone who wants to bring chairs or a blanket to the Delano Central Park gazebo (unless otherwise noted), and enjoy the music! We will move to the Delano City Hall if it rains.

The 2026 schedule is:

6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Join us for ice cream at Central Park to celebrate all past Citizen's of the Year.

Wednesday, July 15 -
7:00 PM – 8:15 PM Delano Community Band - Mike Dailey–Director. Band members are local talent playing traditional, patriotic, and movie music.

4:00 PM- 6:00 PM Beat the Heat Pizza Party fundraiser at the Delano Senior Center, hosted by The Friends of the Delano Library.

Concert–
6:30 PM- 8:00 PM –Uncle Mike of Pint Size Polka. Sponsored by the Arts & Cultural Heritage funds from the Minnesota Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment.

The GFWC of Delano installed new officers for the 2026-2027 year. The officers include (from left to right): Jeannie Pilarski, Publicity; Renee Mathews, Secretary; Marianne Hamrick, President; Jamie Stang, 1st Vice President; Marge Barfknecht, Historian; Diane Anderson, Treasurer; and Lisa Blodgett, 2nd Vice President (not shown).

The GFWC meets from 7-8:30 pm on the 2nd Monday of each month, from September through May. We welcome potential new members who want to join our group of philanthropic women. Contact us at [email protected] or talk to one of our members to learn more about our group.

GFWC will be volunteering at the Delano American Legion omelet breakfast on May 3rd. Join us to make your own high-protein omelet served with hash browns, sausage, fruit, toast and coffee or juice.

Tickets are available at the Delano Senior Center and from club members. All proceeds will be used for community projects such as concerts in the park.

GFWC Celebrating 136 years of community volunteerism and counting! Congratulations 🎊

One hundred and thirty-six years ago, on April 24th, 1890, 63 women from 17 states across the country formally adopted the constitution of the newly-formed General Federation of Women’s Clubs.

Their commitment to each other paved the way for the immeasurable impact clubwomen have had on the world. Today, we celebrate the founding of the General Federation of Women's Clubs and the incredible members who dedicate their lives to serving others.

It's National Volunteer Week, and April is National Volunteer Month. Did you know that 40% of Minnesota residents report being involved in a volunteer activity?

April 24th is General Federated Women's Club Federation Day when clubs celebrate volunteerism. Our GFWC of Delano is proud of our volunteers and the activities we do throughout the year.

One of our ongoing projects is collecting pop tabs for Ronald McDonald House and this week we made another donation to the Delano McDonald's. Thanks to everyone who contributed!
We encourage people to save their pop tabs and drop them off at the Delano Senior Center during business hours where a marked collection box is available.

We were busy working at the Light the Night concession stand again last weekend and enjoyed the singing of the St. Max students. There are lots of opportunities to get out to see the beautiful lights yet, and while you’re at it, be sure to stop in and warm up inside or by the fire pits.
