Several months ago a group of members went to the Cowboy and western Heritage Museum to view their fiber collection.

Just a reminder.
Our next meeting will be June 21th. Megan Collier will be giving a program on our new scanner, how it works, how we will use it to document our wonderful fiber collection and step into the new century.

Look forward to see everyone young and old.

In-Lay Weaving Workshop
One-day Summer Workshop
Date:July 25
Time: 10-5 (bring your lunch)
Cost: $40 (the price of one cone of 3/2 perle cotton for classes!)
Instructor: Sherri Dudeck
Supplies: You will need a warped 4-shaft loom (8-shafts also works) plus
general warping and weaving supplies, and extra weft yarn in various sizes and
colors. Your warp may be whatever you have on hand; 5/2 or 8/2 size should
work well, but you want a smooth fiber. Perle cotton or Tencel or similar.
If you do not have a loom that is easy to bring to the workshop, there are looms
available for use in the studio—first come, first served! We should have 4 to 6
looms available. Rental fee: $20.
Warping instructions will be available by June 2.

This past weekend our guild had a birthday….20 years. The original Weavers Guild of Oklahoma was started in 1938, the membership has ebbed and flowed over the years, but this last 20 years has been consistent enough that we now have our own studio space .
I am proud to say I have been an Oklahoma weaver since 1978 .
Come visit us sometime.
