Troop 33 - DeKalb, IL Troop 33 Scouts BSA, Potawatomi District, Three Fires Council BSA Youth-run program for boys grades 6-12. Fundraising allows boys to earn their way. Leadership.

Focus on outdoor activities offer challenge, adventure, leadership, discovery. Service opportunities range from local community service to national disaster relief projects. Active advancement program. Excellent summer camp. High adventure dreams come true. Every season: "Always an Adventure!"

Troop 33 Scouts planted these flowers back in May. DeKalb Square and Memorial Park are the locations. The boys did a great service project that extends added beauty into downtown DeKalb throughout the season.

SFC Jack Baker Funeral - Saturday August 8, 2026

Members of Troop 33 attended the funeral of Sergeant First Class Jack Baker on Saturday August 8, 2026. We are very thankful to SFC Jack Baker for his duty to country and his long-awaited homecoming to DeKalb.

An element of family history. His younger sister Sharon married Herb Rauworth in 1964 and had three sons, Marc, Darin, and Eric. Those three nephews of Jack were involved as Scouts in Troop 33 DeKalb. Marc and Darin achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in 1984.

National Night Out - August 4, 2026

Hy-Vee Foods served as the host site for the 2026 National Night Out for the DeKalb/Sycamore area. Local police and fire departments were onsite along with other community booths. Troop 33 served hot dogs, brats, chips, and drinks as part of the event.

Eagle Court of Honor - August 3, 2026

Troop 33 honored Liam Berry with presentation of the Eagle Scout Award on Monday August 3, 2026. Liam first joined Troop 33 in 2019. His positive journey through Scouting has taken him to many places of physical adventure as well as personal growth, leadership, and development. He stands tall in many ways.

National Night Out is coming Tuesday, August 4th.

At National Night our the community unites together with law enforcement and emergency services for an evening of fun and education. You can see police and fire vehicles, K9 friends, CPR demos, 9-1-1 education, plus so much more. Food and beverages from Scout Troop 33 will also be available for purchase.

Returning from Philmont - Saturday July 25, 2026

Troop 33 Scouts left aboard Amtrak from Raton, New Mexico on Friday July 24 for an overnight trail ride arriving in Mendota, Illinois on Saturday July 25. It was the end of a great high adventure backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch. It was an experience they will never forget.
