May was Mental Health Awareness Month, but Hope Haven works year-round to address the mental health needs of our community. Our therapist, Suzie Geisler, partnered with the DeKalb County Mental Health Board to help dispel myths about mental health and homelessness.

This is Nelly on her last day at Hope Haven. She was always full of emotions. Her good days were great, and her bad days were hard. But here she is, Nelly being Nelly on a very, very, good day. We’re all looking forward to that home cooked meal she promised us.

Shawn is a resident who lives in one of our on-site permanent housing units for people who were homeless due to a disability. We have 12 units, a therapist, and a psychiatrist. Thanks for supporting Shawn and his 11 neighbors. Now they all have both a home and the help they need.
