The proverb is from Igbo and Yoruba regions of Nigeria and the basic meaning is that raising a child is a communal effort….but also with the extended family and in some cases the community”

The DeKalb County Community Foundation has established a COVID-19 response fund, and awarded The Salvation Army of DeKalb County a $12,500 grant to help individuals and families directly impacted by COVID-19. Ideal Industries Foundation immediately matched that gift for a total of $25,000.
