Hey huskies! We hope you’ve had a good first week of classes!
We’re holding our Spring kick-off meeting on January 26th @4:30pm in the Wirtz Hall 204. Come learn all about the programs we're offering this semester (we have both virtual and lots of in-person options!), meet the new Activities Director from Aperion Care, and help us make Valentines for local long-term care residents. We hope to see you there!

We have stopped Zoom Pals for the rest of the semester due to staffing issues at Aperion Care.
However, we do want to thank everyone who participated throughout the semester, and we hope to see you again next semester!

We are holding a CD drive over the next 2-3 weeks. We are hoping to collect older CDs, with music from the mid-1900s (any genre) through about the 1990s. The CDs will be burned onto an iTunes account and can then be returned if needed (if you want your CDs returned, put them in a bag with your name and COMD class clearly printed on it).

On Dec. 1st we will be burning the CDs to an iTunes account in Wirtz 204 @5:15pm. The songs will be uploaded onto iPods for residents living in DeKalb-area nursing homes.

We’re excited to announce that our Wednesday 4pm time slot is now an in person only opportunity!

In order to participate, you need to complete the following:
- HIPPA contract (see above)
- Volunteer application
- Aperion Care Orientation
- Provide Aperion Care with your up-to-date COVID vaccination card (you can also send a scan/photo of it to Dr. Mayer, [email protected], to give to Aperion)

Please email us if you would like to volunteer in person but need help attaining one of the above criteria, OR if you want to volunteer in person OR on Zoom at a different day/time.

We are working on doing more in-person volunteering, BUT we are still doing Zoom Pals because the residents do enjoy it!
