On Sunday, April 16, 2023 Parents & Caregivers Attending Law School hosted its first annual Miriam Ambrose family picnic. Law students, faculty, staff, and their families were invited to attend the picnic. Families were able to see their law student loved ones’ law school environment, a tour of the Riley courtroom was given, and two stories were read to those in attendance by P.C.A.L.S. President, Kristin Arriaga. The event also was used to educate attendees about Law Day coming up on May 1, 2023. Thank you to all who attended!

Rain or Shine the First Annual Miriam Ambrose Family Picnic is happening this Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 12p-4p!
Food will include: burgers (including a vegetarian option), hotdogs, beans (baked beans & vegetarian baked beans), corn, chips, popcorn, snow cones, & cotton candy. The event will be held outside Swen Parson Hall or if we have inclement weather in the North Wing. Hope to see you there!

PCALS executive board elections are coming up!

All executive board positions are available:

President
Vice President
Secretary
Treasurer

We ask that anyone interested in positions please submit a few sentences about your interest in the position and list out all positions you are interested in by March 27, 2023. Elections will take place shortly thereafter.


A frequently asked question is how much is involved with serving on the PCALS executive board. To be honest, not much. The objective of this organization is to connect parents & caregivers as they attend law school and acknowledge the hard work and effort that goes into being a law student while managing the other responsibilities of your outside life. We have created a mentorship program that allows for 2L and 3L parent/caregivers to connect with a 1L parent/caregiver. We also plan a family friendly picnic that uses SBA funding for the end of the spring semester. The current executive board members (Kristin Arriaga, Brittany Malone, and Charlotte Willoughby) are happy to answer questions you may have!
