I know wrestling hasn't officially started yet but I wanted to give everyone a heads up on our Border Wars tournament. For those that are new to the program, this is a tournament we started ten years ago. We currently have 60 teams committed to come from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. We cannot do this tournament without the support and help from the community, businesses and parents. With this being said, the dates for this year's tournament are December 29 and 30 which are a Monday starting around noon and Tuesday starting around 9. Besides food and monetary donations, we need a lot of help from parents and family members. We run 10 mats which need at least 1 adult per table plus help running the special concessions where we serve donated food for 100% profit as well as people to man the hospitality room where we feed more than 300 people each day. Wrestling isn't just a sport; it's a battle against your own limits....

You grind for hours every day, pushing past exhaustion, enduring the burn in every muscle—just for those intense six minutes on the mat where everything counts.
Blood time isn't just a break; it's a race to get back in the fight, to clamp down on the bleeding because every second away is a second lost. This is where you dig deep, where you find what you're really made of.

You don't just play at wrestling; you live it. Every drop of sweat, every ounce of blood you give, it's all for the glory of those few minutes where you're not just fighting an opponent, you're conquering yourself.

To everyone who thinks they know hard work: strap on the headgear, lace up the shoes, and step into our world.

Attention all Parents and Wrestlers including prior year wrestlers and parents. If you did not turn in your warm up gear and singlets from last year or this summer, please get those turned in right away. Coach Murphy has a list of everyone who didn't turn them in. You can turn them in anyday after school until 5:15pm in the wrestling room.

Parent Meeting: MANDATORY!!
Tuesday, November 21st at 6pm Coach Murphys Classroom. All Freshman and Any Upperclass Parents who didn't attend meeting on 11/13/2023.
Also Pictures will be that day for the wrestlers. They will be coming home with picture forms by Monday.

Also Monday is Meet the Bulldogs at 6pm in the High School Gym. We will have practice after school and the kids are able to bring shower stuff to shower after practice. They are to wear Defiance/Defiance wrestling gear. No sweatpants or PJ pants.

It is wrestling season!!!! I want to give everyone a heads up about our Border Wars wrestling tournament. This is our only fund raiser that we do and the money from it goes to all aspects of our program from the mad dog wrestlers through the high school. WE NEED YOUR HELP!! The dates for our tournament this year are December 28 and 29. We need a lot of volunteers from workers for our special concession stand, hospitality room and table workers, as well as financial support and food donations. We have at least 56 teams coming which means we have to feed over 300 people over 2 days in our hospitality room. Please put these dates on your calendar. We will have sign up sheets for workers and food donations. We can't put this tournament on without you! Thank you in advance!
