Did you know that Defiance county was one of the first in the state of Ohio to adopt the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program? 📚
This meant your local United Way pledged to raise funds each year to cover the cost of the books and postage for each child registered in our county.

Dolly’s foundation made this program accessible and affordable for a local partner to run. We’re so grateful for her passion to get books in the hands of every child! And we’re so honored to be the local funder, providing books to over 1,300 children each month.

We send our thoughts and prayers to Dolly’s family and all that knew and loved her. We’ll continue honoring her legacy by supporting the Imagination Library for years to come.

🌟Thank you Midwest Community Federal Credit Union! We're so excited to be starting the 17th year of the Back Pack Buddy program-- and serving over 500 children each weekend, providing them with nutrious, kid-friendly supplemental food during the school year!🎒

A reminder of a couple programs the UWDC funds and runs that could be helpful:

⭐️Back Pack Buddy- bags of supplemental food for elementary students each weekend of the school year. Ask your teacher or guidance counselor for a form to opt in.
⭐️Feeding Success- Food & Personal Hygiene pantry stocked at EVERY school in the county. Let your teacher or counselor know if you have a need.

While we’re sad to see you leave, we know this is just the beginning of an exciting new adventure. As you lift off toward your next opportunity, we hope the skies are clear, the winds are favorable, and your journey is filled with success and happiness.
