I make a lot of loom videos for IHB folks, to show them how to do things, and for my other clients too.
Last week, the desktop application stopped working, and I was annoyed, but not annoyed enough to restart my computer - because well, I have a lot of tabs open and I'm always afraid I'm going to lose something.
But then my mic stopped working, and I couldn't do calls.
I finally restarted, thinking that would solve all my issues.
The mic started working, but loom still wouldn't, and while the browser version is fine, it's a PIA vs the desktop app.
So, I had to go remove the desktop app, and restart my computer again so that it would truly remove it all, and then go download it again.
But it worked, and now I can make looms again with no issue and it was worth the annoyance, because it took all of 2 min to do.
And this is an applicable lesson for so many other things... the way we duct-tape together systems that aren't meant to work together, and keep limping along because it's very, very, very barely working, but it is all we've known, and it's MUCH to scary to rock the boat...
Except that it isn't. It'll take just a little bit of effort to fix it, and it's SO worth it in the end, when you no longer have to barely scrape by anymore.
