Rocket’s Story

hasn’t always been easy for me. I have a bite history, food aggression, and anxiety. I take medication for my anxiety that costs about $20 a month, and I will likely need it for life.

But that’s not all there is to me.

I love climbing into laps, giving kisses, and being close to the people I trust. When I feel safe, I’m affectionate, loyal, and full of love.

I need a strong, patient, and understanding owner — someone who will never hurt me and who is willing to help me feel secure. With the right person, I know I can continue to grow and be a wonderful companion.

I’m Summer, and I came into La Porte Shelter as “Donna Summers,” a little one year old terrier mix. who didn’t know what was happening or if anyone would ever be kind to me again. But once I felt safe, my whole heart opened up. Now I jump, I play, and I greet the day like it’s made just for me. I have a big zest for life, and I’m ready to share it with someone who will love me forever.
