Once a location has been secured, we are looking to hold meetings and free workshops in the Deer Park/Babylon area within the coming months. Our plan is to bring peers together in a safe environment, where they can interact with other children who would like to make a difference. The focus of these meetings will be to educate on how to spot and deter bullying, learn ways to react if they find themselves in a bullying situation, offer peer guidance and support to those children in need, as well as offering a safe, friendly environment for peers to make and garner friendships. With the growing cause for concern in our community, it has become quite clear that we must take action against the bullying and violence within our schools. It is time to open the floor for conversation. No child should be left to feel as though they don't matter, or that the feeling of hopelessness will never go away. Please join us in teaching each other ways to minimize and prevent bullying, to spot a peer in need and take action, to spread love rather than hate, and to tolerate and accept others regardless of our differences. We ARE all the same. It only takes one person to make a difference, and that person can be YOU!
