🌱 Monday Reflection | SEED: Making Room to Grow

Shalom, Eve Center community!

As we continue reflecting on our word of the year, SEED, this fall invites us to pause and ask:

What am I allowing to fall away—and what am I ready to let go of? 🍂

A seed carries the possibility of growth. As we nurture what God is growing in us, we can also consider what we’ve been carrying:

🍂 The pressure to be everything to everyone.
🍂 Expectations that leave little room for rest.
🍂 Comparison that makes our own progress feel small.
🍂 Responsibility for choices that belong to someone else.

Releasing can take time, prayer, support, and an honest boundary. You can honor what a season has meant while making room for what comes next.

This week, consider one thing you’re ready to release and one seed you want to nurture in its place: peace, courage, trust, or connection.

At Eve Center, we’re grateful to walk alongside women as they find hope and take their next steps toward healing and growth. You don’t have to navigate this season alone.

🙏 Lord, help us recognize what is ours to tend and what we can release into Your care. Give us wisdom for our next step and courage to receive support. Amen.

🌿 THANKFUL THURSDAY 🌿
A reflection written from a client’s perspective.

Today, I’m thankful for room to be honest.

Room to say, “This has been hard.”
Room to shed a tear without rushing to explain it.
Room to be heard while I’m still finding the words.

I’m thankful for someone willing to listen, encourage me, and walk alongside me as I take my next step.

My story is still unfolding. Some days are difficult. But today, I can make room for gratitude, too—for compassion, for small steps forward, and for the hope God continues to nurture in me. 💜

At Eve Center, your story matters. You do not have to navigate this season alone.

Women Helping Others Live Encouraged was created to provide a virtual option to emotional, relational, and Spiritual health for our community. This is a one-hour training held every other week, focused on specific mental health topics from a Biblical perspective. ALL ARE WELCOME!!

As we head into these final few days, we are so grateful for every person who has given, prayed, and shared our mission. Every gift helps the Eve Center continue providing hope, healing, and Christ-centered support to women in our community—all at no cost to them.

We’re excited to introduce Jeff Friday as the Master of Ceremonies for the 2026 Eve Center Gala!

For more than three decades, Jeff Friday has helped athletes and organizations perform at the highest levels. He spent 21 seasons in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings, Baltimore Ravens, and Cincinnati Bengals—including nine seasons as head strength and conditioning coach of the Ravens, where he was part of the organization’s Super Bowl ###V championship run. During his NFL career, his teams made multiple playoff appearances, and he coached 40 Pro Bowl selections, 12 of whom went on to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. In 2000, his peers named him Professional Strength and Conditioning Coach of the Year.

Before and between his NFL roles, Jeff built athletic performance programs at the collegiate and professional levels, including at Northwestern University and with the United Football League and XFL. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education, a master’s degree in exercise science, and training in therapeutic massage. His graduate research was also published in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research.

But Jeff’s greatest passion extends beyond athletic performance. Today, as Director of Human Performance with Athletes in Action, a Christian sports ministry, he helps people close the gap between where they are and where they’re capable of going—not just as athletes, but as people. His philosophy centers on four foundational areas of growth: physical, mental, social, and spiritual—the same principles at the heart of his book, Built 4 Winning: Crossing the Thin Line Between Good & Great in Sports, Business & Life.

Jeff’s journey from the highest levels of professional sports to ministry and human development has taught him that lasting change is built from the inside out. Whether coaching an elite athlete, mentoring a young person, or serving his community, Jeff is passionate about helping others discover their God-given potential. That same heart for people is what he brings to his role as Master of Ceremonies for Eve’s Center.

We’re grateful to have Jeff joining us and can’t wait to welcome him to the stage on Friday, November 6!

🌱 WEEK FOUR: GROWING, LEARNING & PREPARING TO SERVE

We are officially in Week Four of Eve Center’s 2026 VPC Basic Training!

Each week, our up-and-coming Volunteer Peer Counselors are gaining the knowledge, wisdom, and practical tools needed to compassionately walk alongside women on their journeys toward healing and wholeness.

Today, we celebrate every woman who answered “yes” to serving. Their yes is being strengthened through training, prayer, preparation, and community.

Please join us in covering our future VPCs in prayer:

🙏🏾 May they remain encouraged and teachable.
🙏🏾 May God deepen their wisdom and discernment.
🙏🏾 May they learn to listen with compassion and lead with grace.
🙏🏾 May they be strengthened to finish training well.
🙏🏾 May every seed planted during these weeks produce lasting fruit.

Ladies, you are halfway there—keep growing, keep showing up, and keep trusting God with your yes. The women you will one day walk alongside are worth the preparation taking place today.
