It was an honor to welcome U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand to United Way of Long Island today as she announced a $750,000 Congressionally Directed Spending award to support the development of our new Construction Training Academy building in Deer Park.

This critical investment will expand career training opportunities for participants in our YouthBuild, Power Up, and VetsBuild programs, helping more Long Islanders gain the skills needed for family-sustaining careers in the construction industry.

We were proud to have our board members alongside United Way to celebrate this milestone with our valued partners, including YMCA of Long Island, The Viscardi Center, labor leaders, workforce development advocates, YouthBuild students, and community stakeholders.
