In 2019, a foundation was established in honor of Darlene Carbone to raise funds for brain tumor research and provide support and resources to patients and families facing a brain tumor diagnosis. The Darlene Carbone Brain Tumor Foundation has to date raised and contributed $75,000 to advance brain tumor research. These contributions have been directed to esteemed institutions such as Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory and the National Brain Tumor Society. Notably, $70,000 has been donated to support the groundbreaking efforts of Dr. Alea A. Mills and her team at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, furthering their pivotal glioblastoma research.
Please join us at our 6th annual walk in recognition of Brain Tumor Awareness Month on Saturday, May 2nd at 1 pm at Sunken Meadow State Park. Immediately following the walk there will be a picnic brunch in the park, including raffles, a bake sale, and more!
