Fourth of July Events schedule at the Deer Lodge Abner Ross Memorial Center
The Deer Lodge Community invites everyone to come to Deer Lodge on Thursday, July 4th to celebrate the freedom we enjoy because of our brave Military and Service members. Starting at 8:30 a.m. EST vendors located around the gazebo will be selling Amish Donuts, Smoked Sausage, Ice Cream, Crafts, Beauty Items and other various food and miscellaneous items.
There will be information booths for local businesses and candidates asking for your vote as well as the booths listed above. Booths are still available for $30 and with electricity $40. The booths are 16’ X 16’. Call Martha Griffin at 423-965-4142 for more information.
Starting at noon, the Abner Ross Memorial Center will serve its Famous Grilled Chicken Dinner with all the fixins including a freshly baked roll, half a chicken, Italian cut green beans and cole slaw for $13. A leg quarter dinner is $10. Greg Smith, assisted by Josh Maugerman and Robert McCullah are preparing the chicken.
At 10 a.m. the Deer Lodge Quilt Show will begin at the Abner Ross Memorial Center. Contact Pud Langley at 865-805-2044 to get information. To enter your quilts and sewing projects, please bring to the Center by 9 a.m. Prize ribbons will be awarded for Best Show, 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place. Scarves, needlework, crocheted and knitting items and miscellaneous hand made and sewn projects can be entered.
At 1 p.m. EST on the basketball court, the children’s games will begin. Starting with the turtle race, then the penny hunt, the water balloon toss and the sack race. Ribbons and prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
Everyone is invited to come out and enjoy the freedom earned and protected by our military and law enforcement officers.
