CALL FOR OFFICER NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2023-2024 DEDHAM ARTS BOOSTERS

The Dedham Arts Boosters is seeking nominations for Officers of the Executive Board for one-year terms. There will be a Spring election to fill the positions for the Executive Board and Middle School Representative. The election will take place virtually at our General Meeting on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:00.

Our Mission:
To arouse and maintain an enthusiastic interest in the arts in DPS by acting as ambassadors to the community.
To assist and support the Fine and Performing Arts Department in any way that will insure the safety, well-being, and supervision of students consistent with school policies and the smooth operation of special projects or events of the Fine and Performing Arts Department.
To recognize and reward the achievements of students in the arts.

Dedham Arts Boosters is actively seeking interested individuals for the critical roles mentioned above. Typically, members meet for 2 general meetings each year as well as 2-4 planning meetings. Additionally, members volunteer for fine and performing arts events and fundraising events. This year we have the following positions open:

Depending on skills and desired role, we have one of the two following open:

The Sponsorship Coordinator shall support the Vice President and the Treasurer in their collection of contact information for past, current, and potential sponsors for the organization and coordinate the work of soliciting sponsors.
The Vice President shall assume the duties of the President in their absence and fill the vacancy themselves, should the president be unable to continue in their role. The Vice President shall chair the committee for coordinating volunteers to support events as well as the Awards Committee.
The Treasurer shall receive all organization funds and maintain a bank account. He shall keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures and pay only those expenditures authorized under Article X. The Treasurer shall present an accounting at all organization meetings and a formal financial report at the annual meeting.

Additionally, we are recruiting for a Middle School Representative (1-2). The Middle School Representative will be responsible for coordinating volunteers for Middle School fine and performing arts events. Additionally, the rep will act as a liaison to the fine and performing arts faculty to ensure they understand how the Boosters can support their programs. This is a non-voting role.

The DHS Performing Arts Company, under the direction of Dr. Chris Nadeau and Dr. Michael Medeiros, will present their fall play, "Elsewhere" on Friday and Saturday, November 3 & 4 at 6:30 PM at the James Dunne Auditorium at DHS. Come enjoy this spooky tale, told on the tails of Halloween! Tickets will be available at the door ($15 adults, $12 seniors, $10 students).
