A nurse we know and love...

🩺 Throwback Thursday! 🩺

We’re throwing it back with this photo of one of our most seasoned nurses, complete with the classic nurse’s cap. Any guesses who this might be? Drop your guess in the comments! ⬇️

Fun fact: nurse’s caps weren’t just for style—they were actually a big deal! Each nursing school had its own unique cap design, almost like a badge of honor. The shape, folds, and even stripes could tell you where a nurse trained and sometimes how far along they were in their program.

While caps have mostly disappeared from hospital hallways (turns out they weren’t the most practical for busy shifts 😅), they remain a symbol of the history, pride, and tradition of nursing.

We love celebrating the incredible experience and dedication of our team—then and now. 💙

As many of you know board member Andy Carlson, was elected to the position of Mayor of the City of Decorah last fall.
That meant we needed a new board member.
We are so thrilled to welcome Dave Anderson to our Board of Trustees.
We'll learn a lot more about him soon but in the mean time take a scroll through this silly group of photos and you'll get the idea that he'll fit right in with the rest of us!

Today we would like to take a moment to remember a good friend, Joyce Langreck.
She did so many wonderful things for the WCCOL for many years. Personally she battled cancer on and off for 30 years!
She was a good friend to us and we will remember her fondly.
