New Minowa Players

New Minowa Players New Minowa Players is an incredibly active community theatre located in Decorah, Iowa.

Based in Decorah, NMP began presenting shows in 1975 and since then the has presented over 120 straight plays, musicals, reviews, cabarets and melodramas in a variety of locations, including the recently established New Minowa Players Theatre, located at 906 South Mill Street, Decorah.

The next 50 years starts now...our 2026-27 Season is here! 🎭

The Young People’s Production will be a magical adventure, looking at the story of Peter Pan's iconic character a little differently. A new, twinkling light shines on all the characters you love in "Tinker Bell".

September will feature a one-time-only bonus production, that you've never seen before, and will never see again. No rehearsals. A new performer each show. "White Rabbit Red Rabbit" will be a truly unique experience. (Research with caution - those who may want to perform in the show can't know about its content).

Community children then take to the stage with a show about the "bestus" of friends, "Elephant and Piggie's 'We Are in a Play!'". Filled with pachydermal peril and swiney suspense, it's sure to delight.

November's Creative Venture features a trio of stories, "Cagebirds / Unsinkable / An Experiment", at times humorous, strange, and thought-provoking.

January brings one of literature's most iconic stories to the stage. Join Mrs. Whatsit, Charles Wallace, and Meg Murry to battle the forces of evil in "A Wrinkle in Time".

Spring brings a new and exciting musical exploring grief, loss, and love during WWII with the help of some memorable characters, in "Alice by Heart".

To finish out the season, we're making the summer a little...chillier! The hit Broadway Musical "Frozen" will take over the Decorah High School stage in June. A chance for all ages to bring the magic of Arendelle to Decorah.
