Trail update 3/3: with the warm weather we lost a lot of snow. The warm weather is supposed to continue along with rain so we are closing the trails. Please respect this, as we want to protect the landowners land and our trail.

Update 2/28: The trails are open, but ride at your own risk. Just respect the landowners, especially if certain spots are starting to get worn or bare.

We lost a lot of snow and base the last two days.

❄️ Trail Update – 2/25/2026 ❄️

With temperatures expected rise well above freezing over the next two days, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our trail system at midnight tonight. This helps protect the base we have and gives us the best chance at reopening for the weekend IF the warm spell doesn’t take too much snow with it.

We’ll be watching conditions closely. If reopening becomes possible, we’ll post an update right here, so stay tuned.

Please respect this closure. Our volunteers spend countless hours marking, grooming, and maintaining these trails, and we also need to honor the landowners who generously allow access to their property. Riding on closed trails is trespassing and puts future access at risk.

If you’re hoping to get a ride in, now’s the time—before midnight tonight.

Think snow, and remember: supporting your local club helps keep these trails open and thriving for everyone.

Trail Update – 02/25/2026

With the upcoming forecasted temperatures the next 2 days, Driftrunners trails will be temporary closed beginning at midnight tonight with the hopes of reopening Friday evening. This is in part to help preserve and keep the snow that is there for trails to open back up for the weekend.

We will be closely monitoring conditions over the next 24–48 hours with hopes to reopen for the weekend. Grooming will cease beginning tonight and will pending startup Friday evening.

Please stay off the trails and respect this decision and our landowners. Riding during this time could jeopardize trail opening for the weekend.

We’ll provide updates as conditions change.

Keep thinking colder temps and snow ❄️

Trail update monday 2/23:

Drew Rasmusson has groomed from Burr Oak to Hesper, to Kendallville, to Prosper and back to Burr Oak.

All trails have been hit at least once but keep in mind how windy and how bad it was drifting yesterday.

Get out and ride while you! Join and support your local clubs too! All of this is possible from our small handful of volunteers, so if you want to ride, join a club, help where you can! We have a qr code if you would like to join us.

Enjoy and stay safe!

We have received a good snowfall over night. If you’re wanting to ride your snow machine I will say get out there and do so! Trails are open for you. Please ride safely and respectour landowners properties as with this fresh snow I don’t have a very great trail report yet
