Yesterday, December 29, was about gratitude and community care.

We were honored to provide meals to the Tullahoma Police Department and the Tullahoma Fire Department; including the EMS department. A simple way of saying thank you for their service to Coffee County. We also served low-income families—because care should move in every direction.

At Awake My Soul Coalition, we believe restorative justice begins in community—through presence, dignity, and meeting real needs. Today was a reminder that restoration starts long before a crisis, in moments of appreciation and connection.

Thank you to all that participated in our first Restorative Justice Circle! It was a huge success with sharing, listening, and working together to fix what went wrong. All participants were engaged and impressed with the process, one saying, "It was so refreshing to come to an agreement that solved the problem that occurred in such an inviting safe place". A special thanks to our facilitators Shannon Phipps and Frank Saylor who organized and initiated the Restorative Justice plan. Let's keep growing together to help our community.

Workshops, lectures and community awareness engagements will be forthcoming and scheduled in the near future for those who want to attend and find out the theory behind restorative justice. Furthermore, these workshops will address restorative justice in school behavior, plans, and restorative justice initiatives for the criminal justice system. Moreover, this will be an opportunity for those who are willing to start working as volunteers when pilot studies begin. Stay tuned!!
