Oly Tommie Smith and Oly John Carlos: inspired Coach Napoleon B. Cobb as a young Track Coach at Berkley High School in California. He watched them train under the Legendary Coach Bud Winter at Speed City/San Jose College. When Coach Cobb got the call to come back to GA from DeKalb County Schools, he was ready. The rest was GA Track history 12 state championships recorded. But, he still coached from his chair at home when he had to retire. So, his total not documented was 16. And he had numerous All Americans from GHS, SWD and Morehouse. He had Olympians also: Terrence Trammell, Angelo Taylor and spent Edwin Moses Senior year with him. When he came to Morehouse Edwin Moses was a senior and had already won a gold medal. He helped hundreds of young men get Track Scholarships to college from GA. GOD is good. The Legacy of Coach Napoleon B. Cobb contiunues.

Coach Napoleon B. Cobb use to watch Oly Tommie Smith train when he was a young Track Coach at Berkley High School. He studied the techniques that Legendary Speed Coach Bud Winter used for Oly Tommie Smith. And brought those workouts back to GA. He kept a picture of Oly Tommie Smith doing his Olympic black glove salute on his file cabinet while, I was growing up. He said it was GOD's will he brought those techniques back to GA. He said when he got the call from DeKalb Schools to be the head Track Coach at GHS. He was more than ready. Oly Mel Pender became one of his bestie friends when he started coach Track at GHS. He is like an uncle to me. He invited me to the GALA for Oly Tommie Smith's nonprofit. It was an inspiring event. It was such an honor to be with these two great Track Legends that were apart of my dad/Coach Cobb's life.

Coach Cobb's youngest daughter Shan passed last week. Instead of receiving flowers and cards the family would like donations to Cobb School of Champions Inc. for our Legacy Track Camp. Shan was very proud of our dad. And how he helped so many athletes become state champs, Olympic Champs and All Americans. She would tell me that throughout our adult life. Now, she is in Heaven with our dad. Peace to all
