21st Century Leaders

21st Century Leaders 21CL is Georgia's premier youth leadership and talent development program for high school students. Our vision is to inspire youth to lead.

Founded in 1989, 21st Century Leaders (21CL) provides year-round leadership development, diversity and inclusion training, and career exploration programs for high school students. Programs range from one-week summer leadership institutes, an interactive and gamified online learning platform, school-year leadership summits, school-based clubs, and workshops all little to no cost to ensure every student has access to high-level leadership development programs.

21CLubs Show Up for the Lekotek Run!
This past Saturday, nearly 30 student volunteers from across our 21CLubs came together to support the annual Lekotek Run.
Students from Midtown 21Club, STEM+21Clubs at Lanier, Innovation Academy and Lambert, and 21Club at DECA spent the morning cheering on runners, handing out water, and creating a positive and encouraging environment for everyone participating.
🤝🏽 We’re proud to see our students put leadership into action through service and community involvement.
The Lekotek Run is an annual tradition for 21st Century Leaders, and we’re grateful to have our students continue showing up year after year.

Our 21st Century Leaders Board came together for an inspiring Board Retreat at Ponce City Market, hosted by our incredible partners at Cox Enterprises!
Together, we reflected on the past fiscal year and looked ahead at how we can continue creating greater opportunities and impact for the young people we serve.
From exploring new ways to better support youth across Georgia, to expanding awareness of the 21st Century Leaders mission, to maximizing the impact of our Leadership Connect platform, our conversations centered on one thing: equipping the next generation of leaders to thrive. 🚀

Last week our staff took a day to ideate, strategize, and plan together for the upcoming year.

At the retreat, we sharpened the saw, focusing on organizational priorities and ways to continue serving our students with excellence, expanding our reach to more student leaders, and increasing the impact of our programs.

Thank you to Warner Bros. Discovery (and 21CL Alumni Board member Will Holley, IV) for hosting us for a staff retreat in your creative space. On campus we also ran into Board Member Mallom Liggon who works at WBD!

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! Over 1,000 of our 21st Century Leaders graduated this year, representing 178 high schools in Georgia.

Collectively, they reported receiving $5.3 million in scholarships and 92% reported they are clearer on knowing their career path after high school because of 21st Century Leaders.

Help us celebrate the aspirations of these leaders and the impact they have shared with 21CL as they head into their post-secondary journey as 21CL alumni.

Today’s highlights Morgan Byers, a graduate of East Jackson Comprehensive High School (2022) and Harvard University (2026) who is a research assistant at Boston Children's Hospital with plans to teach elementary school before continuing through medical school.

Morgan shares about how programs like 21st Century Leaders shaped her personal leadership style and facilitated a moment where connecting with a volunteer made her realize she can achieve her dreams.

“21CL also taught me the importance of knowing who you are and believing who you can become—something that continues to comfort me today. 21CL also taught me that even when you go far, you can always give back — a lesson and responsibility I carry with me everywhere I go."
