Get your tickets for dinner and a show!

Join Refugee Women’s Network and Patagonia Buckhead for an intimate evening of film, food, and community connection celebrating the strength, leadership, and stories of refugee and immigrant women in Georgia.

Together, we’ll gather around a shared table for the screening premiere of the short documentary TOWARD THE SUN, a film about the RWN Hiking Group from filmmakers Maryam Mir & Andrew Nadkarni!

Guests will enjoy a family style meal inspired by Afghan, Syrian, and Ethiopian food traditions. We will share space for conversation with RWN staff, Outdoor Wellness Peer Leaders, and community members about the strength of refugees in Georgia.

Your ticket includes dinner, drinks, the film screening, and two entries into our Patagonia giveaway. Space is limited to 50 guests, so reserve your seat early.

Meet Our Featured Speaker: Han Pham ✨

We’re thrilled to welcome Han Pham as a featured speaker at Global Feast Under the Stars!

Han is the Executive Director of Her Term, an organization dedicated to empowering women to run for political office in Georgia, and was selected as a 2024–2025 Obama Leader.

A passionate advocate for women’s leadership and community empowerment, Han previously served as Board Chair of Global Village Project, a school supporting refugee girls in Georgia. She is also the founder of the Decatur Lunar New Year Festival and has been recognized by Atlanta Magazine for her community leadership.

Outdoor Peer Leaders Esther and Victoria led the last hike of the season to Tallulah Gorge! 🙌🏾

We are so thrilled that new hikers got to experience this place because of their commitment to organize it after the original was rained out.

These hikes are more than women gathering for a walk. They take a lot of effort, many hands coming together to prepare, make lunch, drive, group text (a lot!) and most importantly, create spaces where our community members feel safe and free to have fun and connect.

Because of the 9 Peer Leaders that have trained this year, the RWN Outdoor Wellness program will be community-led and this has a ripple effect.

Our last big event is the backpacking trip on Halloween 🎃🥾

👩🏾‍🎓 Last week marked our 8th and final session of Connect to Care Swahili. 🧵

We concluded the program with a final crochet activity, which was a meaningful and enjoyable way to practice mindfulness. 🧠☮️

Throughout the program, our community members gained valuable knowledge and resources, but most importantly, they gained friends. RWN CHW Memory reports the program taught her a great deal:

“I am grateful to have been part of this program and to have had the opportunity to engage with and learn from our community.”

We are officially one month away from Global Feast Under the Stars!

We can't have a Wild Fling without the otter! 🦦
River otters are one of our favorite wild neighbors to spot in the South River watershed. They are playful, powerful swimmers, can close their ears and nostrils underwater, use their sensitive whiskers to detect movement, and stay submerged for several minutes while hunting.

In just TWO DAYS, this Thursday, we’re celebrating all the flora & fauna that call the South River home. Join us from 7:30-9:30pm at on the BeltLine for live music by , supper from , drinks, raffle prizes and a wild bunch of river lovers.
