Update from The Decatur Main Street: Taylor Braun, a recent Purdue Fort Wayne graduate and lifelong Adams County resident, visited the Decatur Rotary Club as the new Executive Director of Decatur Main Street. Taylor shared her excitement for leading Main Street and highlighted plans to strengthen downtown Decatur for both residents and visitors. She announced the upcoming Downtown Decatur Days, set for June 19-20, featuring two days of entertainment, shopping, food, and activities for all ages.

A key milestone for Decatur Main Street this year is earning full accreditation, opening the door for new growth and opportunities downtown. Taylor encouraged community members to keep an eye out for upcoming events and to get involved by volunteering. Project Connect Gives Update to Rotary Club: The Decatur Rotary Club recently welcomed Rob Parker, executive director of Project Connect, and Sarah DeRossett, who shared how the organization helps individuals transitioning from jail or prison by connecting them with needed services and support.
Project Connect aims to bridge the gap for both men and women reentering the community, offering guidance and stability during a critical time. The organization currently operates three recovery houses—two in Berne and a newly opened home in Decatur—and is expanding with office space in the former Rice Hotel at Third and Madison streets in Decatur. Parker, formerly director of Crossroads Community, emphasized the importance of community partnerships in helping participants rebuild their lives.

Rotary Newest Member: The Decatur Rotary Club welcomes Eric Schevenius as its newest member. Schevenius works as a Health and Life Insurance Agent with Bixler Insurance. Recently the Decatur Rotary Club hosted Bellmont Middle School Students of the Month for February, March, and April 2026 at a regular lunch meeting. The Decatur Rotary Club is happy to thank The Galley Restaurant for participating as a sponsor for the upcoming Decatur Stars and Strikes-a-thon. The event is a joint community activity and fundraiser for the Rotary Club Scholarship Fund and the Bellmont HS Bowling Team.

Participating Bowlers will have 50 minutes to throw as many strikes as they can solo or in teams of up to 4. 9 Pin No Tap scoring will be used for the entire event so bring the kids and let’s make some noise.
