Please welcome the 2 newest members of the Equine Eyes family. These boys were born last summer in Kentucky. As I learn their personality they will be given new names.

What would be a good name for our prospective miniature guide horses?

[C**t on the left will be solid black in color, once his winter coat has finished shedding; c**t on the right will be brown/bay in color. He also has high white socks on his back legs & ankle high socks on the front legs.]

Volunteers Needed – Earn SNAP Work Requirement Hours

Equine Eyes, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, is looking for dependable volunteers. Our mission is to train & provide miniature guide horses for people who are blind. Mini horses are an excellent mobility option for some individuals.

If you need to complete 80 hours per month to maintain SNAP benefits, volunteering with us may help you meet that requirement while supporting a meaningful mission.

Right now we especially need handy men and women who have the ability & willingness to help with small repairs. Our barn is 75 years old & covered with corrugated tin (metal), requiring continuous maintenance. We will provide all of the tools & materials when a repair is needed. We would really appreciate having an extra helping hand.

We also welcome volunteers who would enjoy helping to clean and organize the barn, or assist with general property cleanup, helping to keep things in good shape.

Volunteers who are “horse crazy,” like us, may have opportunities to help care for and spend time hands on with our miniature horses.

We will document & verify your volunteer hours for SNAP reporting.

If you’re interested & would like more details, or if you just want to chat about horses 😉 feel free to send me a direct message.

🌿🐎 Equine Eyes is now offering premium plant fertilizer made by the miniature Service Horses in Training (S**T) of Equine Eyes 501(c)3.

100% of proceeds will directly support the growth of our miniature horses as they learn through positive reinforcement training modalities & become a trusted guide horse for the blind. Mini horses are an excellent option for those who prefer an alternative mobility partner than a guide dog.

Our composted horse manure is:
• Naturally aged
• Sun-dried
• Free of chemical pesticides
• No pass through herbicidal residue
Exactly how nature intended!

Because it’s properly composted and nutrient-rich, it has a pleasant earthy aroma and is safe for direct application to potted plants and gardens.

🐦Our compost has not been commercially heat treated. You may notice the germination of "volunteer" grass seeds that have been spread by wild bird. Simply pluck out the seedling.

If you’d like to nourish your indoor plants and support the mini horses of Equine Eyes, you can:

• Order through our Facebook Marketplace or Ebay listings

Growth in any specialized field requires humility, accountability, and a willingness to refine our understanding.

As Equine Eyes continues to develop, I am grateful for individuals within the service horse community who take the time to ensure accuracy, precision, and clarity in conversations surrounding our work.

Abrea Hensley, a respected board member of Cheval Assistants and Leaders International (CALI Corp 501(c)3), horse trainer and partner to the widely recognized service horse Flirty, has dedicated years to advancing awareness and standards within this space. Her attention to detail reflects the level of responsibility required when working with service animals.

Constructive feedback is both necessary and is appreciated. Open dialogue strengthens programs, improves communication, and ultimately benefits the individuals we aim to serve.

At Equine Eyes, we are committed to continuous learning, ethical development, and collaboration within our field. There is always room to grow, and we welcome that growth.

-Advisory Board Opportunity-

My name is Holly Fisher, and I am the founder of Equine Eyes, a developing nonprofit organization (501(c)3 - pending) that trains miniature guide horses for individuals who are blind. While our organization has strong expertise in equine training and welfare, we are intentionally building our program in collaboration with experienced professionals in human mobility, disability services, and guide work.

We are currently seeking a small number of advisory board members to help guide ethical placement practices, handler education considerations, and long-term program development.

Advisory roles are consultative and limited in scope; members are not expected to provide daily services or operational labor.

We are especially interested in connecting with:

• Certified Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Specialists

• Guide dog instructors or graduates

• Blind or visually diverse adults with service animal experience

• Rehabilitation or disability services professionals

Equine Eyes is committed to transparency, animal welfare, and responsible program growth. Advisors help ensure we uphold these values as we move forward.
