As we countdown to the next Decatur Christmas Tour of Homes, we’re celebrating another Decatur winter tradition - the Festival of the Cranes at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge, happening January 10–12! Each year, thousands of majestic sandhill cranes grace the skies, creating a breathtaking display of nature’s beauty.

We’re also thrilled to feature some stunning artwork inspired by cranes, showcased in the Ryan-Catlett Home - one of the homes from the 2025 tour. The artwork captures the elegance and grace of these incredible birds and is a perfect reminder of the seasonal magic all around us both in nature and in the artistry of our historic homes. 🎨

Whether you’re admiring cranes at the refuge or through beautiful works of art, the season is full of inspiration.

A meaningful moment from this year’s Decatur Christmas Tour of Homes was the live nativity at Decatur Methodist Church. In the midst of beautifully decorated homes and festive traditions, this simple and reverent scene brought everyone back to the true heart of the season.

Seeing the story of Christmas come to life, created a quiet pause during the tour and left many visitors feeling inspired and grateful. As we arrive at Christmas Eve, it’s a beautiful reminder of hope, love, and the reason we gather and celebrate.
