Grow Decatur Grow Decatur focuses on three general areas of improvement have been identified in past and current discussions on the topic of growth in Decatur.

Grow Decatur was an initiative born out of the desire of a few like-minded individuals in the community who wished to make Decatur, IL a better place through community involvement. They are Economic Development, Education, and Quality of Life. Economic Development includes Job Growth, Business Retention and Development, and Economic Vibrancy. The focus of the Decatur Area Education Coalition repre

sents a direction and approach already underway. Quality of life reaches from recreation and entertainment, to safety and health, to a sustainable infrastructure, and beyond. The areas of focus and their goals listed below represent the beginning of a plan and a dashboard for our community's progress. A plan for each will come from the community's future collective work. Transformation requires unified: Game Changing Initiatives, Broad-based, Engagement, Unified Strategic Objectives and Meaningful Metrics.

The Heart of Illinois Community Foundation and the Decatur Area Arts Council are offering a chance for you and two friends (3 tickets total) to see the amazing musical "Hamilton" at the Fabulous Fox Theatre in St. Louis on Sun., Sept. 1 at 1 pm. Every donation to the Arts Council made between August 22-28 will be entered in the drawing. A live drawing will be at DAAC on August 29th at 10 pm.
