A grandmom, sweet grandkids, and a rescue dog plus Furnish with Love volunteers equals happiness! Nominated by Grady Health, this family has seen several years of housing insecurity and is ready for a fresh start. Grandmom is raising three kids and helping many more. It was a treat to bring in functional and bright pieces to make this one-bedroom work for a family of four.

We all fell in love with Chanel, the family dog. She brings fun and love when times are hard. A huge thanks to all who helped create this warm home.

What a privilege to help furnish a home for a wonderful father and veteran. Nominated by The Warrior Alliance, he and his kids are starting over after a tree crushed their house, resulting in several moves. The morning after his family furnishing project, he shared a message to all the volunteers who made it happen.

Dad said, “When I walked in yesterday, I was completely flabbergasted. I never would have imagined decorating or arranging my home the way you all did, and everything—from the furniture and rugs to the pictures, decorations, colors, and all the little details—was so thoughtfully put together.”

“What really got me was watching my children walk in and seeing their reactions, especially my little boy. Seeing the excitement and joy on his face is something I’m going to remember for a very long time.”

To begin again, this brave mom and her children left an abusive home and everything they had. We were honored that they trusted Furnish with Love to help create a safe, comfortable space they could finally call home.

Since their install, we’ve heard from Mom a couple of times—and they are truly on cloud nine. ❤️

First, she texted, “I just had no words—this is so much more than I envisioned.” The next morning, she followed up: “I woke up pinching myself.”

Did you know that domestic violence is the leading cause of homelessness for women?

Imagine the choice between staying in an abusive relationship or leaving behind your home and nearly everything inside it - family photos, your kids’ artwork, treasured family furniture.

Many of the 80+ families that we’ve helped have faced this head-on, putting as many of their possessions as they can manage into just a few plastic bags.

So when we help families furnish a new home that feels safe and comfortable, we’re helping them heal and move forward.

How can you help? Think about supporting one of the organizations that help survivors of domestic abuse, such as Partnership Against Domestic Violence (Partnership Against Domestic Violence)- or make a purchase from our Amazon list (link in bio) to provide new sheets, kitchen utensils and more to our next family in need.
