Lyzee's Hope Hello Family! We are reaching out in Love, to Build Up, Encourage, and Press Forward! “Daring to Be, ALL that we have been created to be.”

Purpose: To build up families communicating in person, and through social media, to inspire, and share devotionals that we can apply to ourselves and our families in a practical way the matters of our day to day lives. Goal: to reach out collectively, to network, and avail ourselves as an inspirational, motivational vessels used in our homes, on the job, within our community and beyond. Lyzee’s Ho

pe was birthed from our original non-profit organization Team Omni. Team Omni’s mission was to provide fun opportunities for youth boys that develop character, integrity, and friendships; to promote academics; enhance athletic skill; to develop good health and wellness through teamwork. The purpose of Team Omni as an organization was to offer amateur sports programs as a mentoring tool, through a volunteer base for all people: to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship; to conduct programs that provide or, enhance and strengthen participation and competition for amateur athletes; to work with other sports organizations to benefit amateur athletes. The participants excelled in Academia and Athletics through mentorship, travel, moral and spiritual support. In March 2013 our founder launched Lyzee’s Hope as an outreach and linkage tool for Ladies to support one another in their wholistic personal development. In our first year we developed our network base and established ongoing communication and support. In 2014, we adopted the inception our memorial scholarship. In 2015, we incorporated our vision with linkage services to develop the entire family. We will continued our Ladies devotionals, as well as, provided a youth scholarship, updates on community events, volunteered with outreach groups, and coordinated and launched a quarterly book club for men only. In 2016, we intend to facilitate more small group sessions within the community, as well as continue to incorporate our vision with linkage services to develop the entire family with Inspirational devotionals for Ladies, provide youth scholarships, updates on community events, volunteer with outreach groups, and continue book referrals and empowering messages for men. We’re open to ideas, suggestions and partnerships with and from your organization. We look forward to partnering with you in developing our communities local and abroad.

This cause is deeply personal to me. As a survivor, I know firsthand the daily struggles, emotional weight, and unexpected financial burdens that come with chronic illnesses such as cancer. What many people never see are the quiet battles — the transportation needs, medications, missed workdays, household expenses, emotional exhaustion, and moments where simply making it through the day is a victory.

The number of people attending our support group continues to grow. It is a reminder of how great the need really is.

I ask with humility, not pride.
Not from laziness.
Not from entitlement.

But from compassion, responsibility, and lived experience.

This message was prompted by one of Facebook’s annual birthday reminders encouraging donations to organizations with unknown recipients. I’ve supported many causes over the years, but this season feels different. This mission is up close. It’s personal. It’s intentional.

This was the loudest graduation I’ve ever been to—small in number, yet big in spirit. One thing no one can accuse their parents of is screaming louder at sports games than they do at graduation.

This was my first time attending a Lucy Craft Laney High School graduation. More than the pride of Augusta, many of these graduates are the pride of their families—first-generation high school graduates, alongside legacy graduates with alumni present representing nearly 60 years of family lineage.🎓

The noise wasn’t distracting as much as it was engaging—like Super Bowl Sunday or a high-spirited worship service in a traditional Baptist church, where the members didn’t consider the preacher preached, if he didn’t mention the third day or end with a whoop from the diaphragm which controls their breath support from the depths of their loins.

Of course, I cried tears of joy. In the 22 years I’ve lived in Augusta, many of these graduates I literally knew before they were born. I held them in church as infants and toddlers. I watched them learn to talk, crawl, and walk—and now I watched them cross the stage. I was personally invited and graciously accepted the invitation from Laney’s 2025- 2026 Homecoming Queen Leilani. 👑Tears formed as she entered Auditorium #6 in her class and flowed as she delivered her Inspirational Reading on behalf of them all.📚

I thought I was done crying until the valedictorian stood at the podium. He paused midway through his speech, emotional as he reflected on his journey. It may have been one of the quietest moments of the program as we all sat in silence and many cried with him.

That wasn’t the last emotional moment. He pressed his way to the end, stating “last but not least,” acknowledged his great-grandmother and mother—and we wept again. The president of District 1 Board of Education confirmed exactly what I was feeling. As they prepared to present the diplomas, she shared with the valedictorian that the board members had attended nine graduations this week, and this was the first one that brought her to real tears.

It was a historic ceremony. For the first time in the school’s history, 36 honor graduates were recognized and awarded more than $3 million in scholarships and grants.

When I was initially diagnosed, I feared I would never see my 50th birthday. Now, as I prepare to turn 51, I count every day as abundance, grace, and purpose.

As a peer advocate, I now stand alongside individuals I see in real time who are simply grateful for another day, another treatment, another act of kindness, another Samaritan gesture.

In my last post, I shared that My Grandbaby Girl loves Spidey and Friends, imitates sword-fighting superheroes, BUT also loves the frills and daintiness of satin dresses, sheer fabrics, and ruffles — especially if the dress flares out when she twirls. 💕⚔️👑

She also knows how to fully narrate a combat fight with her army toy characters lol. Her imagination is always in motion.

This was our before and after from the Women of Wonder Outreach Ministry Bible Study Fellowship, where the children learned about the Full Armor of God. 🛡️

Watching her boldly stand, learn, play, imagine, and express herself so freely reminds me that children can be both strong and soft, fearless and graceful, adventurous and loving — all at the same time.

One minute she’s battling imaginary villains… the next minute she’s twirling in ruffles and satin. And honestly, I love every bit of it. 💜

My Princess and I volunteered at a golf event supporting young collegiate scholars outside of the Greater Atlanta area. Before leaving the city, we stopped by to visit my grandbabies and drop off gifts from Auntie Cori.

This became such a sentimental moment — a passing down of legacy from my ONLY daughter, affectionately known as My Princess, aka Auntie Cori. My Princess gifted my grandbaby girl her very first tiara set. My Princess Daughter has blossomed beautifully into young adulthood, building her own Queendom. I had intentionally avoided purchasing princess regalia for my grandbaby girl because I was trying to find our own niche, yet somehow this moment felt perfectly fitting.

My Grandbaby Girl already expresses herself with high energy. She’s a quick and creative thinker who loves to run and jump, and I’m already imagining her athleticism. She has dabbled in swim and gymnastics and is scheduled to start back after summer break. I can’t wait to pull out my grandma sports chair for her first parks and recreation game.

She doesn’t shy away from physical activities. She loves Spidey and Friends, imitates sword-fighting superheroes, BUT also loves the frills and daintiness of satin dresses, sheer fabrics, and ruffles — especially if the dress flares out when she twirls.

The moment she opened her gift, she immediately requested a wardrobe change. Once dressed, she ran straight to her daddy and said, “Look at me Daddy, I look cute, I look pretty.” Tears of joy. 🥹💕

Her daddy “inspected” her shoes like he was already mentally preparing for prom lol.

And my grandson, affectionately known as Mr. Chase Man, is such a chill little dude. He received a controller to officially lock in as Player #2 with his daddy. I already get the feeling he’s going to prefer staying home with dad while we’re outside with the girl shenanigans 😂. He definitely already has a mood — cheerful, but very chill.

Flashback Friday! Photo dump.... 💕

I had my Grandbaby Girl the week after spring break. Since she was missing school, of course we had to take a trip to Dollar Tree to create Grandma’s Learning Center with a 3-year-old curriculum that included reading time. 📚

She loves to learn, is very independent, and full of energy. Everything became a learning moment. I even moved all the refrigerator magnets down so she could identify the people in the pictures and the letters on the magnets. 🔎

She already displays leadership qualities and loves shifting from being the student to the teacher. She spotted the speaker box, and now she enjoys hearing her voice through the microphone. 🎤

We even took field trips to the municipal building to learn the importance of voting, and to the Farmers Market to explore healthy eating choices. They also had a science fair with future educators from the college. We both learned a thing or two that week. 🧠

We ended our week at a Women of Wonder Outreach Ministry Bible study fellowship learning about the Full Armor of God. My Grandbaby Girl stood before the crowd and shared with the children’s group what they learned. ✝

She called me again this week asking me to come pick her up. Apparently, she’s ready to do it all over again. I’m officially living in grandma’s world 🌍 now lol… and I absolutely love it here. 💕
