The Decatur Civic Chorus will begin rehearsals for our upcoming season starting tonight at 6:15 PM!

Come and join us for a fun Christmas Concert, no prior choral experience necessary!

We will be doing a Christmas Music Concert and rehearsals will be every Tuesday night from 6:15 to 7:45 PM at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church On Danville Road in Decatur Alabama!

The Concert will be November 16.

Linda Davcvidson will be our director and Ann Butler will be the accompanist.

Decatur Civic Chorus is back!

After a two-year hiatus, due to the COVID pandemic, the Decatur Civic Chorus will meet again starting in September.

The first rehearsal for the group of community singers will be Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. at Saint Andrew Presbyterian Church, 3310 Danville Road S.W. Rehearsals are open to everyone.

The chorus’ previous performances featured jazz, soul and country standards, rock songs and Broadway tunes.

We hope that everyone will be able to come and celebrate our dear Betty Rocha on Saturday, April 13.

From the Decatur Daily: The family of Betty Dale Rocha, age 88, of Decatur, will host a celebration to honor her on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center.

Mrs. Rocha, who died Friday, March 22, 2019, at Riverside Assisted Living, was born April 26, 1930, in Rochelle, IL to James Fred Dale and Nellie Allen Dale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel M. Rocha; her parents; two brothers, Junior and Chuck; grandson, Austin; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Rocha.

She is survived by one son, Tim Rocha; two daughters, Mary Rocha and Betsy Rocha-Weaver (Jere); siblings, Doris Brinker (John) and Jimmy Dale; four grandchildren, Lauren Codding, Jennifer Codding, Manuel M. “Manny” Rocha, III and Carrington Johnson; and numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, P.O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35602 or Rock Steady Boxing for Parkinson’s, 1009 Line Street, N.E., Decatur, AL 35601.
