As a part of maintaining the pond and wetland habitat at the Preserve, we will be dredging a small section of the beaver pond in the coming weeks. This will provide habitat for species that prefer deeper water and allow the pond to persist longer in the spring.
To dredge the pond, equipment will enter the Preserve at the intersection of Pine Bluff and Harrington and cut through to the sewer easement (the trail along the creek). Equipment will use the sewer easement to get to the back side of the pond. The section of the pond that will be dredged is near the bird blind on the back side of the pond.
You will see tree save fencing and erosion control fence being erected along the construction access and work area. Please leave these environmental protection measures in place.
Please note that some sections of trail might be closed during times of active work.
If you have any questions, please let us know.
