First of all, I want to thank the team that came out this morning at 7AM to help me procure produce for today's BULK PRODUCE & MEAT Distribution event.

I had told myself, if no one showed up, I was going to turn around and get back home. The way I was feeling this morning and the past week, I would have cancelled today's event and came back home and got back in the bed to rest up some more.

With all the help we had this morning, I was able to fill the entire trailer before 12 noon. This gave me some extra time to come home, eat my lunch, as well as rest before going to 1900 Second Ave Decatur Georgia 30032 to finish distributing the food.

I was planning a Mini Food Distribution event today, but that's not the case. As aforementioned, the trailer is full of some good food bargains today from fresh pineapples, papaya, banana, yellow corn, green beans, green grapes, cauliflowers, yellow onions to red plums. Not to mention all the Kroger bakery products from bread to snacks, along with whole Papa John's pizzas and Chick-fil-A items picked up by one of our beautiful volunteers 😊

I tried to pick up a few items this morning, but I received a quick reminder, I am not back.... 100% yet.

The medicine that I am taking to make myself healthier is upsetting my stomach and zapping my overall strength.

Lord knows... l hate to have to call out sick again for another week 🫤. I have one Hispanic gentleman that is finishing his last few hours of community service in the morning. l pray that he shows up...he was a tremendous help two weeks ago.

I had a phone call this morning that a new person and her husband wanted to volunteer tomorrow morning from 7AM to noon at the State Farmers Market (16 Forest Parkway Forest Park Georgia).

If I can find one more person to assist in the morning, TOGETHER... we can make the food procurement at the State Farmers Market a BIG success!!!

There is plenty more food for us to get in the morning, but I am in no position "health-wise" to do it alone. Additionally, you can get cases of produce to take back home with you. Please RSVP me if interested in volunteering and showing your community support!!!

- Food Pantry Volunteer: Requires general lifting, sorting and distributing repurposed food at the State Farmers Market (7 AM- 12 Noon) and at our headquarter located at 1900 Second Ave Decatur GA 30032 (2 PM until we close around 9 PM).

It comes the time when everyone has to take a seat back and rest. If we don't find that much needed rest, life has a way of laying you down on your back, looking up at the ceiling until you yield into admission.

As a layman, dealing with rest is something we all can rely on... especially, those that are walking with Christ. David in Psalm 23 wrote it elegantly, "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures". The Lord has a way of making us lay down for rest, recuperation, as well as, our safety.

Gentle forced rest: The word "makes" shows that people—like stubborn sheep—often refuse to slow down on their own. God sometimes stops us or guides us into a time of rest even when we want to keep working or worrying.

Food2Life - Rescue Food Foundation had a week to step back, rest and reflect on a lot of things. Let's say the focused rest was very beneficial, to say the least.

It won't be busy, as usual for Food2Life Foundation. Look for some positive changes to occur in the week ahead.

FOOD 2 LIFE - Rescue Food Foundation is hosting today's BULK PRODUCE DISTRIBUTION event at 1900 Second Avenue Decatur Georgia 30032 USA from 4:30-6:30 PM, 31 July 2026

Besides the obvious pineapples and papayas, we will h, bananas, plaintains, cucumbers, zucchini, egg plants, carrots, and a lot more variety of fresh produce. We will have bread and bakery items, juices and drinks, plenty of salads and salad kits, along with whole Papa John's pizzas and bags of Chick-fil-A biscuits and chicken.

Additionally, we will have a huge selection of fresh meat from chicken, pork, beef to turkey. No fish or seafood.

Lastly, we have a pallet of Walmart Returns Merchandise to give away courtesy of Feeding GA Families, our network partner and sponsor.
