Join us for the Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble's final concert of the season!

A Song for Tomorrow | Presented by the School of Music and the Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble
Saturday, April 29, 2023 | 7:30 to 8:30pm
Kirkland Fine Arts Center

The Millikin Symphonic Wind Ensemble presents a concert of music that looks toward the future with hope and optimism. Repertoire will include “Renewal” by Matt Klohs, “A Song for Tomorrow” by Kevin Day and “Be Thou My Vision” by David Gillingham. The ensemble will also be premiering a brand-new piece titled “Immovable Shifting” by student composer Victor Lawton and conclude the concert with the classic work by John Barnes Chance “Incantation and Dance”. Join us for this inspiring program by the virtuosic musicians of the Millikin Symphony Wind Ensemble as we look ahead to tomorrow.

A huge congratulations to senior clarinet performance major Cara Rivecco who will be attending NYU Steinhardt Music and Performing Arts Professions next year on academic and merit scholarships to pursue her MM in multiple woodwinds studies! Come check out the Woodwind Chamber Recital on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:30pm in Kaeuper Hall! It features a mix of duets, trios, quartets, and quintets for Bassoons, Clarinets, Flutes and the Eidolan Woodwind Ensemble, with a wide range of music including Klesmer and Celtic styles, new music and familiar composers such as Bach, Elgar, and Ibert. Bill Bradshaw (He/Him) is our current Vice President of the Millikin Oboe Bassoon Society. He is a sophomore Instrumental Music Education major from Decatur, Illinois.
